Datamonitor is an international company providing market intelligence, data analysis and opinion via a worldwide network of in-house analysts. Datamonitor is a division of Informa plc, a United Kingdom-based publisher and conference company.

The company has released a new report, “Biosimilars: Regulatory Update” this month.

After consultation with industry, the US FDA published draft biosimilars guidelines in February 2012 and although details are lacking in a number of areas such as interchangeability, the guidance sets out the agency’s broad views and gives developers greater certainty for the initiation of development programs.

In this report, Datamonitor analyses the US guidance, new interferon beta biosimilar guidelines in EU and also worldwide developments such as the situation in Iran.
